THE USER MANAGER

The user manager allows you to control the access rights and privileges of every user within your organisation that has access to the iCommerce admin system.

How do I access the user manager?
  • Click on the ‘User manager’ link located in the top menu bar
  • You will be presented with the user manager index page listing all iCommerce users.
How do I add a new user?
  • Click the ‘Add a new user’ button. This can be found in the top right hand corner of your screen.
  • Complete all fields and click the ‘Next’ button.
  • Select the pages within the website that you would like the user to have administrative access to and
  • click the ‘Next’ button.
  • Select the administrative privileges for the user and click the ‘Next’ button.
  • You will be re-directed to the user manager index page where you will now see the new user listed.
Tips for creating a secure password
  • Include numeric characters.
  • Mix capital and lowercase letters.
  • Your password should consist of minimum 6 characters.
  • Include similar looking substitutions, such as the number zero for the letter ‘O’ or ‘£’ for the
  • number ‘3’.
Things to avoid
  • Don’t use a password that is listed as an example of how to pick a good password.
  • Don’t use a password that contains personal information (name, birth date, etc.)
  • Don’t use words or acronyms that can be found in a dictionary.
  • Don’t use keyboard patterns (asdf) or sequential numbers (1234).
  • Don’t make your password all numbers, uppercase letters or lowercase letters.
  • Don’t use repeating characters (aa11).
Tips for keeping your password secure
  • Never tell your password to anyone (this includes work colleagues).
  • Never write your password down.
  • Never send your password by email.
  • Periodically test your current password and change it to a new one.
  How do I edit the access rights or privileges for a user?
  • Go to the user manager index page
  • Click the ‘Edit’ button that is displayed adjacent to the users account listing.
  • To edit the users access rights, click on the ‘Access rights’ tab that is located towards the top of the page below the bread crumb trail.
  • To edit the users privileges, click on the ‘Privileges’ tab that is located towards the top of the page below the bread crumb trail.
  • Once you have completed all amends click on the ‘Save and close’ button.
  • You will be re-directed to the user manager index page.
  • To cancel the action click the ‘Close’ button.
How do I suspend a users account?
  • Go to the user manager index page.
  • Click on the green tick that is displayed adjacent to the users account listing.
  • The users account will now be listed at the bottom of the page as inactive.
  • The user will now no longer have any access to the i-Commerce admin system.
  • To re-instate the users account click on the red cross that is displayed next to the users
  • account listing.
  • To cancel the action click the ‘Close’ button.
How do I delete a users account?
  • Go to the user manager index page.
  • Click on the green tick that is displayed adjacent to the users account listing.
  • The users account will now be listed at the bottom of the page as inactive.
  • Click the ‘Delete’ button that is displayed adjacent to the users account listing.
  • You will be prompted by iCommerce to confirm that you would like to proceed with this action.
  • To proceed and delete the user click the ‘OK’ button.
  • To cancel the action click the ‘Close’ button.

Once a users details are deleted they cannot be retrieved.
